ROBERT TRORY
BIOGRAPHY

Robert Trory studied conducting in St.Petersburg with the famous conductor and teacher Ilya Musin following a successful career as a violinist, playing with London's top orchestras. Robert gave his debut concert with the State Symphony Orchestra of St Petersburg and was then immediately invited to return to conduct in their British Music Festival giving the first performances in Russia of Vaughan Williams 'Wasps' Overture and the George Butterworth Idyll 'The Banks Of Green Willow'.

He went on to conduct concerts with the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. With the Bayerischerrundfunk Orchester in Munich he recorded, for radio, Shostakovich's Chamber Symphony and the Janacek Suite for Strings. These recording are to be released on the Guild label.

After his first concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra the critic Denby Richards wrote in Musical Opinion 'Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, with the RPO on top form, became the masterpiece it ought to be every time. Robert Trory then inspired a stunning performance of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.'
